Rear rack top fitting suggestions

Going to fit a rear rack on my steel cx bike. No specific mounting points.
Several options, the simplest being p clips but I was wondering about peoples experiences of other methods.
I could use a seat clamp mount although that doesn't give a level rack top. 2 other options are, bearing in mind I have alloy fabrication facilities, are use the redundant canti bosses.( Disc brakes in use) These could be either the normal canti boss or the double bolts on the seat stay that the removeable canti boss fits.
The other option is to use the central canti brake cable stop/adjuster on the on the mono stay top of the seat stays.
Options 1 and 2 are easy, 3 and 4 more imaginative. Just wondering about the most effective version.
Your opinions and interesting suggestions please.

The simplest (but not the cheapest) would be an
Old Man Mountain rear rack (
OMM website). The White Rock fits on mudguard eyelets the others use a custom QR mount. All can use canti bosses for the upper mount.

what loads are you going to carry? Panniers?
BTW Blackburn used to do widgets that allow clamping into the triangular holes on the dropouts. Meant to be reasonalbly strong.
If loads are not too great you could make/modify a seat post rack with triangulated braces onto the canti bosses.
cheers

There's a seatpost clamp rack fittings attached which would do if you're not carrying the kitchen sink.
Tad da:-

just use 'P' clips; the canti bosses will be too low anyway.

Thats the one. Got the lower mounts. P clips are so unimaginative though

Thinking a bit randomly here, but could a seatpost mount be modified to be fitted lower down the seat tube, so it secures the rack at the correct angle? Perhaps either filing down inside or shimming an oversize one? But this would require it being "stetched" to fit around due to seat stays being in the way stopping it being slid down. Hmmm.
Or if feeling flush, love the bike and want to keep using it into the future, being steel you could take it to a workshop or frame-builder and get bosses brazed onto the seat-stays.
Edit... But then getting a different rack would cost less.

Well I didn't have any levelling problems when I used my seatpost rack mount on a previous bike, the arms from the rack were adjustable so it was just a case of sliding them into position until the rack was level and then securing the clamps.
