One point I was trying to make above is that although this happens with avatars, it doesn't happen with signatures or at least, not mine. At the moment, my oP on this thread hasn't got my newly-installed signature on the bottom. (When I look at it, that is.)

I've gone back to 2007 and my signature is in place up till about 2008 and I thought my current sig was more recent than that. My older sigs from about 2007 have disappeared though. To all appearances it does apply to all but I've no way of telling whether I am right for sure. However if you look at my posts in this thread they all now have the word TEST at the end as have a random sample of earlier ones. Reading gaz's post it would appear that your sig will be amended but it won't appear unless you had already allowed it or had a sig in the past. I suppose something like a blue full stop would have given you some future proofing.

I cant see the word test.

I have just realised that the auto-delete will rather ruin that joke.
