Something that seemed to work...
This weekend I managed to arrange a ride that included three layers of public representation - national, borough and town (parish equivalent) - a 45 minute simple bike ride round my small rural town (Whitchurch in Hampshire).
I can thoroughly recommend anyone doing the same.
We had Sir George Young (Leader of the House), the Town Mayor in chain of office, and the Borough Councillor on his bike for the first time in 37 years - plus several other Councillors.
We looked at cycle parking, road surfaces, possible cycle routes, various hazards, and some enjoyed a cup of tea and natter after, in true cyclist tradition.
Situations faced here are no different to most locations but it gave a real insight on cycling issues to those who are involved in the final decision making.

Why not try it where you live?

What an excellent idea!
Think of the potential improvements if we could get more doing it!
