I had a go on Newport Velodrome last week and have another introduction session booked.
I found the track bikes interesting to say the least and am not sure whether I have enough passion to do much on the track.
I have posted a few questions about fitness before including fears for overdoing it. Riding with a social cycling group has shown that I am compararatively fit.
On the track I felt fairly strong and quick but fairly quickly had an asthma attack. Do you have any constructive suggestions as to how to up my fitness enough to sustain a track session. My asthma is generally not an issue but there is a narrow tipping point between feeling ok and it not when pushing hard. I am mainly interested in having the Velodrome as a way of keeping fit through winter and having never been very sporting I would like to try and 'crack it'.
For info, I am 42 F, 5ft 10, 15 stone
On the track
Commuting, Day rides, Audax, Incidents, etc.
