Re: Index post for Technical Too Good to Lose
Anyone Use a Trailer? bobyak look alike experiences and mods
=======================================================
add to under "touring"
Thedaveb's "Singlewheel trailers - experiences and modifications" thread on the yakalike ( cheapo bobyak look alike one wheel trailer) mods and experiences. it is too important to lose as it has many practical experiences and mods to make them reliable
here is the thread I think that should be added as a 3rd item in trailers
http://forum.ctc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=77175&hilit=trailer&start=90

index updated
Re: Index post for Technical Too Good to Lose
maybe add the thread on quality pedals here as nothing on standard pedals and the ones recommended, MKS , not in my sight at all ( though I had a pair from long ago in my junk box)

viewtopic.php?p=542120#p542120 contains the mechanical advantages for brake levers and arms - worth adding to the Too Good To Lose?

I would also like to nominate:
Left crank coming loose
Penrite SF Grease for Alfine 8? (IMO applicable to many other hubs except the Sturmey-Archer 3s)

Re: Index post for Technical Too Good to Lose
All three of the above now included in "Too good to lose . . . " .
The dilemma as always is that there is so much good stuff and I don't want to overwhelm that section.

What's that?

Aye, but I thought the latest two worthwhile because loose left cranks and hub gear lubrication seem to arise fairly often.

Re: Index post for Technical Too Good to Lose
A few years back I posted 2 threads on steering geometry
viewtopic.php?t=149250 (An overview of steering geometry, part 1 (a long read))
viewtopic.php?t=149387 (An overview of steering geometry, part 2 (a less long read)
I was researching steering geometry for a new bike for me, and wanted to get the steering right (the new bike's predecessor I had the steering wrong (for me at least)). I wrote it all up because while I found information here and there, I never found it all in one place, so I wrote it up.
I periodically refer/link to it when replying to some threads, which makes me think it woud be good in the too good to loose thread and so hopefully easier to find.
Do people think it is worth putting in too good to loose? I'd say yes, but as I wrote it, I might be biased!
I might do a part 3, as it seems my preferred steering geometry is less prone to pushing me across the road with side gusts of wind (a friend on a club ride asked why I was the only person who didn't get blown across the road one (side) windy day!)
