Hi folks, can someone advise me please which headset and bearings would fit my Specialized Hardrock frame? Its a 1 1/8 frame but dont know much else.

there are several different standards in use, and many different versions of the specialized hardrock.

but note that there are various integrated/hiddenset standards that are missing from the latter page (it needs updating really).

BTW it is my view that the vast majority of headsets fail bacuse they have been badly fitted and/or badly adjusted. I can practically guarantee that if I check someone's a-head headset randomly, the preload will be way too much.

Hi, building a Hardrock myself for touring with help from a really good bike builder. Have taken the frame down to replace parts and been adviced for Cane Creek S3 or S8 headset. Have now ordered now. My bike is 97 so it may be different. Hope that helps.
