Hi all

My name is Michelle, and I work at Evans Cycles.

I just wanted to make you aware of the brand new store we have opened up in Cardiff.

This fantastic store has over 200 bikes on the shop floor for you to browse, and shoppers will be treated to all our great services, including FixIt! cycle maintenance classes and free test rides.

Out staff are waiting to welcome you in and we're offering some awesome opening deals - just use the code CFOPEN to get 10% off bikes, 15% off clothing, parts and accessories, or 20% off servicing.

More details are available here: http://www.evanscycles.com/stores/cardiff

We look forward to seeing you soon!
Michelle

Given that they've paid the CTC to stick a big advert in the current edition of Cycle, I think that this announcement is fair enough. Of course, they've stuck it in the Reviews section so it could be counter productive if people start adding they negative feed back regarding Evans....

I'd be interested to know if Evans will be running any rides or events in the Cardiff area?

Hi guys

Thanks for the note - I did consider this but moderation rules weren't clear, and I thought information might be valued. Of course, we'd love to hear any feedback - good or bad - hence the choice of the review section.

With regard to rides, we do hold RideIt! events accross the country - and we'd love to hold one near Cardiff. The schedule for this year is already set (http://www.evanscycles.com/ride-it) - but we will be planning next years rides soon. Have you got any suggestions for great rides, and venues we can use to base the event? I'm all ears!

Michelle

Evans (Birmingham) messed me about to such an extent when I was interested in buying a new bike that I am trying not to put any more business their way for a while. For the record, I bought my bike from the Bike Shed, Cardiff, who could not have been more helpful.

I was chatting to a chap yesterday who'd bought a Jamis bike from Evans, after four months he'd had a spoke break and the BB had play in it,he also said the seatpost bolt was cross threaded, which TBH doesn't say much about the bike really but he said evans "didn't want to know" and the he wouldn't be using them again, which doesn't surprise me.
I told him to throw it back at them and demand his money back as the bike was not clearly fit for purpose :?
