A short one from Calais

I am looking to do a little cycle camping trip with MrsT

The plan is to drive to Dover. Park up and take the bikes and kit on the ferry.
We then want a 5/6 day cycle camping trip in that area, doing an average of 40 miles a day.
It will be our first outing, so any advice would be appreciated

Don't ignore the offers on car crossings; it may be cheaper to take the car with the bike inside than cross without it. Crazy but....

As a result of the dodgy weather, we are struggling to decide between

1 cycle camp the C2C for 4 days
2 cycle camp from Calais for 7 days
Or because the weather is cr@p
3 take the camper to Cannock Chase for a week and do MTB and road cycling, but the benefit of a camper van with a fridge stocked with beer
