Fitting Nut fixing brakes to a frame designed for Allen fit

Post by regoak »

I am trying to make a neat job of fitting old bits to a new frame, and hate filing out mudguard bridges etc. Just wonder if anyone knows of a UK supplier to anything like these http://problemsolversbike.com/products/ ... nder_nuts/ .
If so, I would like to know of them.

they are for fitting AK brakes to frames for AK brakes, to include an M6 bolt for fitting the mudguard.

From your thread title I assumed that you wanted to fit nut fixing brake calipers to an AK frame. If the latter, this is quite easy, sometimes just a thick section M6 washer is required (although you might have to file it to fit in the recess).

cheers

Sorry about confusion. I was looking at two options. Either a bush to make a neat job of fitting nutted brakes to an allen key type frame. Or something similiar to the Sheldon nuts for fixing mudguards to an allen fitted brake.

Did a bit of googling and found the sheldon nuts are availiable in the UK from SJS and Triton Cycles.
