Roseland Peninsula
Roseland Peninsula
Two of us are following the south Cornwall and Devon Coast from Penzance on Saturday. Our first night will be on the Roseland Peninsula which I want to explore (St Just, St Anthony etc). Problem is the campsites are ridiculously expensive at this time of year (eg £26!) While that's probably good value for a massive campervan or caravan with 4x4 towing it, I don't want to pay it for a tiny tent. Has anyone got any suggestions for a discreet stealth camp site anywhere on the Roseland Peninsula? I've looked at Towan beach, which can be accessed via a bridleway - but is there any flat ground there that's not too visible? Or anywhere else accessible on the coastal path? Any suggestions will be most welcome.
Re: Roseland Peninsula
You could try Nare Head. There is a remote National Trust car park at gr 922381 where I camped in October. (admittedly it was in our old camper), but there's plenty of green and some shelter.
