Unfortunately, not as good quality as we have come to expect of 700c rims though

Abel Baker cycles, I think also known as Chris Grange cycles of Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire had a lot in stock also some undrilled ones they can drill to order if you want 40 spokes etc. Good Luck

When I overhauled my old tourer I was tempted to change to 700c wheels, but once I realised what this entailed I decided to stick with 27inch. My lbs got me a pair which originated from China. "Not as good as 700c" I was told, but "significantly better than your current wheels".......... and he was right. The new wheels gave a new lease of life to a 30 year old bike. Apparently the quality of the front axle is much greater than the rear, as the options for the rear were rather limited. Go to any bike shop that looks like it has been around for years, is not spotlessly clean, and has a bloke (or lady) behind the counter wearing grubby overalls and I am sure you will find perfectly acceptable 27 inch rims.
