Am I right in thinking that that XTR Shadow mech (http://www.wiggle.co.uk/shimano-xt-m772 ... erailleur/) would be compatible with my Tiagra 9 speed STI levers?
I'm pretty certain they will from picking up the "vibe", but worth making sure before I shell out £70.
Front is a triple.
Cheers.
STI levers with XTR derailleur compatibility
Re: STI levers with XTR derailleur compatibility
Yes and it will work on that which is only an XT dérailleur too.
Available here slightly cheaper

The 10 speed MTB rear dérailleur doesnt work with any road changers.

Re: STI levers with XTR derailleur compatibility
I agree.
I also agree re an XT mech vs an XTR one. XTR is about twice the price for little gain that I can see.
Lower than XT and the shifting is just as good, but it doesn't necessarily last; e.g. XT pullies are significantly better than Deore/LX etc.
cheers

Thank you for pointing out the deal on the mech.
I've now acquired one, but not yet fitted it.
