The usual Internet searches hav'nt thrown too much of interest. Anybody used any good ones, really looking for something along the lines of our almost unbeatable OS Maps, good topography with smaller roads and tracks.
I've got some good local paper hiking type maps especially for the North but want something to plug into the machine.
Thanks.

The only Spain map, apart from the City Navigator road maps, that I can see is the "
Topo Spain" (click on the "more Images" link to give you a better idea of what sort of mapping it gives). If that suits you, you should be able to get it cheaper elsewhere with a bit of googling).
If you are sticking to the road then, apart from giving no indication of hills, the City Navigator maps are more than adequate for navigation and, despite their name, include most roads across the countries they cover (The whole of europe is about half the price of TOPO Spain).

And somewhat incomplete at the moment!
The UK seems to be getting there but France & Spain seem to be somewhat patchy still, particularly some of the quieter minor roads that many cyclists will want & ANY roads at all, apart from the main route through, in a number of small towns that I've looked at just now in Northern Spain.

Can vouch for the coverage of the garmin city navigator maps. Did a tour in Northern Portugal /Spain in April and there was nothing on the roads that wasn't on the garmin. However, the paper maps were rubbish nowhere near detailed enough. I tended to locate a town/village 5-10 miles fr4om where I was on a paper and use the navigation function on the garmin to take me there. Worked very well.
I have also used the city navigator maps in UK, Belgium, France and Germany and again can report that they are very good. The only problem is that the screen is small and so it is best used in conjunction with a paper map.

From what you say the TopoHispania is going to be the best bet.
