GRP box trailer called the "Shuttle" any information please.
Does anyone know anything about the history of a GRP box trailer with "Shuttle" on it's rear panel. I have recently bought one and would like to know more about it's origin. Any information would be appreciated. It appears to have been make in the 80's, it has 20 inch BMX type wheels.

Is that the one with a triangular frame, the point of which attaches to the seat post?

Thanks for reply. It's actually a GRP box in bright yellow about 33 inches long x 26 inches wide x 23 inches high with hinges lid. The connection to the bike is with a bracket that bolts onto the bikes rear axle and there is also a bracket around the left side chain stay.
There is a document on the internet on cycle trailer design that mentions this fixing arrangement and also names the trailer. The company was Woodland World Ltd, Shirehill works, Saffron Walden, Essex. This company/premises was until recent years a furniture retail outlet. I would post pictures of the trailer on the forum but have yet to work out how to do so.
The box has recesses in it for the 20 inch wheels and the outer side of the axle is held by metal straps that are bolted down both sides of the trailer. I have plated in aluminium the inner wheel bolt connections as the grp was damages and also the inside of the fixings for the straps. These straps also loop around the front to form the hitch.
For something that's possibly 30 yrs old it in surprisingly good condition

I vaguely remember these form "Cycling Today" and am sure that Josie Dew used something similar, but as I posted above I recall a seatpost mount.
I nearly bought one, but went for an alternative design called the "Action Packer", built around the plastic box of the same name

I've got one. I had one before that. The GRP isn't infinitely durable: it develops cracks which leak. But the worst thing about it (I'm not really complaining, it's 20 years old at least) is that the steel frame rusts when it's left out in the rain all year. The first frame rotted (13 years ago) round the trailer end of the hitch; the current one has rotted in the hitch. I have a replacement frame, which Oscroft Cycles had made for me a while ago, but I can't find the (large, fat) rubber washers that are needed. So I'm thinking of retiring the poor old Shuttle. Trouble is, I can't find a replacement that will sit out in the front garden and double as a parcel-delivery box when we are out.
Any suggestions?

How large, how fat? Would tap washers (such as these) fit the bill?
