Trieste to Volos (Greece)

G'day
I'm planning to cycle from Trieste to Volos in Greece in September.
The coast of Crotia sounds very nice.I've heard Albanian roads aren't cycle friendly.
I thought of heading inland, maybe Hungrary then follow a river to Thessalonaki.
I am prepared to catch a train some of the way.
Does anyone have sugguestions on route etc

I don't want to stop you peddaling away but the received wisdom in that Albania can be dangerous. If you want a pleasant alternative, look at Minoan Lines ferries out of Venice to Greece. Great journey and quite easy on the pocket. An Adriatic cruise!!! Bikes free.
