Sorry. pdf files are not allowed. Can you take a screen shot and post it as a jpeg file, or something?

If you need help with that, I could try to post some instructions.

Thank you for the answer. As it is the .pdf file has been found on the web so no need for help in this instance.

Though I did want to know generally.

You can add a link to a PDF somewhere else on the web.

Click on the "URL" button in the message editor and type (or copy-and-paste) the web URL into the codes, so you end up with something like this in the editor:

Document Title

Then when you "Submit" the message, the "Document Title" text will be turned into a link to the PDF file.

The .pdf was in my computer, not on the web.

Thanks for the bit about the urls, I had often wondered how people did that but not enough to ask.
I just cut and paste the links.

I will be trying it out before long.

Why can't we upload a pdf?
All they are is a picture file.

I've wanted to upload a pdf a few times. They are a great system and useful too. I've had to resort to screenshots or select one particular portion as a jpeg.

Because PDF files are more than just images (they're complete documents, and can contain all sorts of stuff: PDF is Portable Document Format) and because they are often very large. The Forum isn't really designed to be a file storage system.

Allowing many different attachment formats could quickly fill up the Forum server's disks (the site already uses 12 Gbytes, mostly people's uploaded photos).
