Normandy campsites?

Post by bikeandy »

Hiya~looking for campsite ideas/tips for the area around Avranches/Villedieu.Planing to take car then ride that area and get a couple of days of the Tour next year.
Had a look but guide books just seem to have the big holiday campsites,we are looking for something smaller and more peaceful.
Thanks for help Andy :D

Buy yourself a copy of this https://www.vicarious-shop.com/Every-Ca ... -2012.html and you will find municipal sites, farm sites, as well as the big tourist sites. This is what I use.

Alternatively, select your town and search online by putting town name and camping. You can also search for the tourist information office in a town or area and their site will usually have information about camping.

edit - just noticed the book is out of stock so maybe you will have to wait for next year's edition or buy from Amazon France http://www.amazon.fr/Guide-officiel-cam ... 511&sr=8-1

Just open Google maps

Home in on the area you are interested in

Type in camping in the search box

All camp sites will come up as red flags or red dots for the smaller ones

Click on them and an information flag will come up with website details, address. Phone number and reviews

If you have a google email account click on the blank star to mark any site that interests you

When you are in the area using a smartphone click on the now gold star to retrieve details and dial the site

Simples, who needs guides? You can even have a look in Google Street view sometimes

Al

What about this place? http://www.fredsplace.nl/php/frame.php
Reuse, recycle, to save the planet.... Auctions, Dump, Charity Shops, Facebook Marketplace, Ebay, Boots. Old House, and a Banger ..... And cycle as often as you can...... Every little helps!

ST Mere Eglise has a very nice municipal site...Been on there a couple of times.

I still believe that people are really good at heart.
