wierd... have 'lost' my balance!

still enjoying commuting and not minding the cold... brrrrr!
But over the last few days have noticed I am wobbly at low speed, no use for filtering in the long queues into town.

For the life of me can't work out what I am doing differently and why cannot balance so well!

Maybe my new super light is interfering with my brain as well as my wireless speedo!

Please see your GP. Chances are it's nothing serious--a cold can cause this, if it affects the inner ear--but there are many reasons for balance problems. It may be indicative of other issues.

Yep - could be labyrinthitis - a very odd condition - I had a minor attack a few years back.
In my case - being very unkeen on antibiotics, I got through it - I must have learned to substitute for the inner-ear cues.

Could be a hyper caused by too much glucose in your blood if it only happens after breakfast. If it is get a blood test via the GP.

Just a thought: maybe it's not a health issue, you could have a stiff headset.

If the bike is OK get yourself checked out by the doctor. I had a similar issue and now ride three wheels only.

Check the headset isn't notchy or stiff. And as the others advise, if the headset is O.K, then get yourself to the doctors.
A few years back I found I had a dizzy sensation if I looked down at the chainset. Turned out to be an inner ear problem and was easily cured by a visit to a specialist. The original cause was due to a bang on my head after coming off, but the dizziness didn't appear until after a few weeks.

My Girlfriend contracted a viral infection of her ear which led to a severe loss of balance (her GP prescribed antibiotics :? and she had to resort to a private consultant to get a correct diagnosis)- eventually therapy sorted it out. There was some permanent damage and she still experiences a slight problem when she has to reach for a bottle on the downtube or starting out of the saddle on a climb. Your problem doesn't seem as serious but I would suggest you take the advice of others and see your doctor just in case the condition worsens.

Also possible - though less likely - is that the forks are out of line, especially if you've had a crash recently. But if so, a check-up of the bike should show up. For your sake I hope it is the bike and not you: bikes are easier to repair! But labyrinthitis is not a calamity. My mother - at a fairly advanced age - suffered from it for quite a while - but she got over it.
