If it is storage space you want look at the Saunders Spacepacker with its two large porches and four doors. We've had one for many years and it has served us brilliantly.

For a bit more space you could consider the two-hooped Galaxy and it would still be lighter than your Vango.
The Galaxy is basically an extended Spacepacker.

We have a three hooped Galaxy that can take six people at a squeeze, and only weighs about 4.5kg. We've used it all over Europe and the UK for family cycle camping.

Yep! I'd agree with the above.

Kenneth,
I can understand your problem but can't help.
I decided last year that my "solo" tent would in fact be a 2 man effort. I bought a Vango Micro 200 which served me very well on my trip to Spain and saw me through some severe weather.
I can't imagine how 2 people would manage in it -- 'cos me and my gear fill it! Two would be impossible!
From Sunday next I shall be re-entering into the world of the dreaded "green knee" for several weeks.
The long range forecast for the whole of the German section of the Danube is for rain from Monday night to Saturday next week!
Ah well -- it helped me decide to take my heavier waterproofs and my overshoes as well --- and I have just fitted the waterproof cover over my helmet ready for a damp start on Saturday morning, 21st, to the Euro Bike Express pick up point!

Kenneth,

If you want more room you can't beat the Hilleberg range of tents. We have a Stalon GT which has a huge awning, big enough to get our 2 bikes in should we wish and still weighs in at 4.5 kg. You can see some pics on our site http://www.cycletourer.co.uk/cycletouring/stalongt.shtml, sadly they don't make this model any more, but the nearest equivilent is the Keron GT. The Nallo GT is quite popular with a lot of cycle tourers, as it is light and fairly roomy.
Hilleberg tents I admit are not the cheapest of tents, but you certainly get value for money as they are well designed, the build quality is excellent and if look after them they will give you years of good service.

cheers

The Galaxy in fact has FOUR entrances, two at each end. This makes cooking protection very flexible as you just open the most appropriate door for protection from the wind.

Also with doors at each end you can access the tent from one and cook/store at the other, removing any conflict of movement.

I don't think you'll be disappointed with Saunders' service or value for money.

Our Spacepacker is 15 years old now while the Galaxy Extra Plus is about 12 and both are still regularly in use.

Back up service has been excellent - we have a zip replaced by Saunders and the occasional pegging loop repaired, both cheaply and efficiently.
