It seems that after the new government rules about claims for injury came in late last year that it will be much harder to claim for minor injuries caused by a third party.
I was assaulted (allegedly) by a motorist last month and suffered a very minor injury. The police are putting the case forward to the CPS but Russell, Jones and Walker tell me that they can't take my claim for compensation for injury as under the new rules they would have no chance of getting any.
They say my best chance of getting any compensation from the alleged assaulter is to ask the court for it from him if he is convicted.

Re: Injury claims via the CTC
RJW would pursue claims through the driver's insurance in the case of an accident.
Criminal cases like assault wouldn't be covered by a drivers insurance. So probably would not be in RJW's remit.
In the event of a person being convicted of assault by a court a compensation order may be considered, but it may not ammount to much and be paid in small ammounts over a period of time.
