Manchester for a week

Post by askeans »

Hope that you can help. I am Londoner and normally get a nose bleed outside the M25 but I will be in Manchester for work for a week or so.

I will be staying in Worsley Park. Does any one know any good areas that I can get a good ride in ( I have MTD with semi slicks so roads / pathes lanes etc are great. I normally cycle 30-40 miles so don't mind a 'commute' to a good area

Cheers

Well there's most of the peak district available to your east. Roads, hills, tracks, all just waitig to be cycled over. You can even cheat and get a train up if you want to. The TransPenineTrail cuts across which is also very cyclable.

Velodrome

Make a trip out to the Velodrome.

There are some good exhibits including Beryl Burton's trophies

It is also brilliant to see one of the training sessions. It is a different atmosphere to a big night, but well worthwhile.
