the major & minor radii are 107mm and 87mm. The ring of holes near the middle are 110mm PCD so the thing will bolt straight onto most 5hole crank spiders.
Weight will be 200 grams.
lotsa holes so you can play with angles and swapping right/left or rotating 180degrees both give a stack more options.
They will probably cost about £15 including postage, maybe less so if anyone wants to try one, leave a reply on here by tuesday lunchtime - that's when I'll be round at the laser place.
It's as easy for me to get 5 cut as one...... ;^)
You will have to chamfer the tooth sides (file or grind) and clean off any flash. There are none of the "easyglide" ramps and bumps to aid front deraillieur changing.

Hello There,
Apologies for hi-jacking this thread, bad form, i know, but having just spotted another oil stain on my best cycling tousers.. but i'm currently in the market for two chain ring guards, both for 110 PCD spider, to give trouser cuff protection from oily chains.. at the moment i currently have two 38 tooth rings, but i'd like the chain ring guards to be able to cover anything from a 32 tooth chain ring up to a 46 tooth chain ring, in case i change my gearing.. other than that, nothing special, although 2 mm stainless steel sounds a fine material to have them made from.. i got to wonder if anyone could make them up for me using lazer cut stainless steel, at if so at what price? and whether there's anyone else out there who may also be looking of a chain ring guard or two, but not at high street prices? If there's alot of us, or if the ctc wish to advertise, i'm not adversed to the idea of the ctc's website address being cut into the rings.

As ever thanks for reading,

Blast from the past here - just noticed the post above from cycle tramp - sorry mate I'm not a "bike parts manufacturer", I just do bits & pieces that interest me at the time :)
Reason for post - just a bit of an update really. My brother stopped using the oval ring & went back to round. He actually felt it wasn't doing his knees any favours in the end.
So - a colleague at work started using it when he had to replace a chainring and has continued with it for several months now. It seems to work just fine with his front derailleur. He claims he can't tell the difference when pedalling! Looks great on the bike though...
