Hi there,
Can anyone suggest a good mapping app that I can use to create a route and use with an iphone?
There seem to be loads of sites but I can't seem to find one which will let me draw a route which incorporates cycle paths.
Cheers

Try the Bike hub app, its based around the Open Cycle Mapping data so will use cycle paths, its free as the bike industry pay for it as part of a fund to improve cycling in the UK.

Try the Bike hub app.......
thanks I've had a look and I'll give it a try. I'm planning a trip up to Derbyshire from Somerset and would like to be able to save a route that I have planned and modified at home which would incorporate cycle paths and road. It would be good to be able to modify a route like you can on google maps.

I've also got Viewranger which has the handy feature of syncing routes you create on their website to the app, downside is its not that intuitive to use.

The National Cycle Network app from Sustrans is quite useful as it lets you plan routes on a computer, save them, and view under My Routes" on the iphone. I hate the delay when you try and zoom in or load a different part of the map and you are standing freezing at a crossroads! I find them all a bit fiddly and mostly use Open Cycle Map which has an offline option which loads quickly wherever you are and still shows you via GPS where you are on the map.

iPlanMyRoute - drop pins on the map to generate the route, then gives you an altitude profile. Not free and dependent on an Internet connection.
