I was amazed not to get a puncture when cycling a Sustrans route through the Mendips last week. Lovely traffic free roads that were absolutely covered in hedge debris.
Although there are any number of cases one could make to the police or local authorities about the danger of this, with less money they are going to be less likely to persue land owners / contractors. I will still be contacting Somerset Council to report the problem though.
I applaud reohn2 "I even joined the NFU forum to discuss the matter with them........" perhaps this is the only way we are likely to get some hedge-shredders to consider their actions.
