Your help is needed.....
We are starting a charity cycle from Glasgow to Exeter on the 19th July 2005 and are trying to plan our route. To us the obvious way of planning each days riding is to ask those of you in the area for your advice.
Our itinerary will be:
Day 1: Glasgow to Dumfries
Day 2: Dumfries to Carlisle
Day 3: Carlisle to Fleetwood or Lancaster
Day 4: Fleetwood or Lancaster to Chester
Day 5: Chester to Ross-on-Wye
Day 6: Ross-on-Wye to Minehead
Without knowing the areas that well we would very much appreciate any advice you could offer on the most "sensible" routes each day.
We are 3 "enthusiastic" cyclists with a little experience in road cycling but always up for a challenge.
The first days cycling is the shortest of the event as all other average around 100 miles.
Please feel free to email me with any advice or thoughts you may have. And if you fancy a chuckle please have a look at our website!!

Re:Route advice needed!!! :o)
Obviously Sustrans route maps take a lot of beating
and you should be helped by them for much of the way from Chester.
The Severn Bridge and the link thru Bristol needs a lot of deep thought. If you have got back up
send them to check the route ahead or something like that.

The Severn Bridge (old one) is ok in itself, the problem is the junction & road at the English end. As Gar said do your homework.
