Sleeping Bag Liner

Post by slowpeddler »

Hello

My sleeping bag is a Snugpack but last year after washing and tumbler drying it in the home washing machine it didn't seem so warm on the next following trip. I've had it washed professionally since and I asked the lady to give it extra time in the big tumbler to try and fluff-up the loft.

I think I might need a warm liner.

Before I melt the plastic, can anyone recommend a warm, maybe fleece sleeping bag liner that doesn't have too big a pack size.

All advice gratefully received.

when tumble drying it in future, chuck in some tennis balls they help to break up any clumps in the filling .A silk liner will roughly add one season in thermic value to your bag lookout for cheap ones they are every bit as good as the posh ones

Fleece liners are effective for extra warmth but quite a bit bulkier than silk. I don't feel that silk adds another season; its a way of keeping the bag clean.

Another option to consider for a liner is a Sea-to-Summit Reactor Liner or their Reactor Extreme liner.

I have used their thermal liner for a number of years and continue to use it.
