^ Also a very good option, save up some extra cash and for £600 plus £20 delivery you will have a very capable road bike with a full Shimano Sora groupset (instead of part Shimano, part own brand like other bikes out there) that will take full length guards plus mounts for a rear rack. Be prepared to wait a while for it to be built and delivered though.

Bare minimum I'd up-spec the Ribble to Shimano R501 bladed clincher wheels and Conti Ultra Sport tyres.

I have a super Galaxy about five years old and I was amazed at the improvement a couple of new wheels (dT Swiss rims built up by hand on a dt swiss rear hub and a shimano dynamo hub) made.

Rougly how much would this cost and what would the weight be.
Interested in tyres too.

About £300. A lot, but the difference was amazing. Like a new bike. Tyres extra, of course. I just used my usual gator skins, but each to his own.

Rose bike did the back wheel and did great job.
