there are hundreds, thousands maybe of oddball bikes that have been made. I wonder if any have ideas in them that are worth revisiting?

this appears to have a flywheel arrangement in it....

Or how about an amphibious bike?

I've been on an amphibious bike before, on a camping holiday in Dingle Bay when I was about 10. It was almost impossible to keep upright

I can't help but think that he'd do better to run slicks, and to put a straddle wire catcher in place...

Here's a good one: http://www.bikebiz.com/news/read/around-the-world-in-800-days-by-bike-boat/014773.
Bike's not the right term because it's a quad but it is pedal powered.

Good for a canal tour without using the towpath.

How about resurrecting the 'Hen & Chickens' to replace the PO bikes? My postie might look cute on one, but her rounds would take considerably longer, I fear!

You can tell how old fashioned it is as only the men are peddling. Now days the women would complain about that sort of thing. I assume the sewing machine is to lower the c of g to make it more stable.

This is in the Malta War Museum, and I have no idea what it's for.
Perhaps some sort of electric generator?
Or a siren?
No sign of cable connections and no sign of of a loud speaker.

I think I've seen similar that are air raid sirens - although the "speaker" isn't always obvious

I asked this question before.

Would you fancy ridding this bike to make deliveries?

No mention of the collection process though.
