Mavic Cycle Shoes - Pedals?

Hi,

Bit of a silly one, but I've received a new pair of Mavic shoes http://www.bikeinn.com/bike/mavic-avenge-maxi-black/42843/pto go along with my new Boardman Road bike, but can't work out what pedals can be compatible with them? I'm guessing I need to buy cleats and pedals? Do they have to be Mavics?

Sorry for the nonsense, but haven't a chance to get to the bike shop until next week and was hoping to get the order in asap.

Recommendations gratefully received. Thanking you all in advance.

this appears to be the 'road three-bolt' cleat fixing. This will accept a range of road cleats such as Look, SPD-SL etc

With adaptor plates you can even fit conventional SPD cleats if you want to.

Avoid the Shimano road pedals, the cleats are very specific and feedback indicates they are less secure than other similar set ups. Get yourself something Look compatible - at least you'll be able to get replacement cleats easily!
