I imagine at least some empathy is a requirement even in accounting.

What a scary person - if only they could test for whatever is wrong with her before granting a licence.

... says she didn't stop because she didn't think the cyclist had come off his bike ...

But her infamous tweet says:
Definitely knocked a cyclist off his bike ...

This is a special kind of stupid.

I was going to end my previous post by saying that this girl needs a good slap, but I guess that would nowadays be considered assault, if not abuse
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

She's so messed-up I wonder if that hasn't already happened.

I wouldn't judge too much on the wording of her apology. What she can or can't apologise for is probably now defined by her lawyer rather than her.

If she was truly sorry* she could do what was right regardless of legal advice.

* I dont doubt that she is truly sorry about the position that she is in now.

Carlton Reid was interviewed on the Jeremy vine show along with a trucker over this issue.
He edited out the relevant bit and posted it on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjxH7jGxX1s

I don't know what selection process they used for the trucker but restrained and rational he wasn't. If he had any reasonable points to make they were compromised by a real sense of urgency behind his bigotry. If he was the girls father it would explain a lot.

Possibly, but clearly this isn't an apology for anything other than being caught.
A shortcut has to be a challenge, otherwise it would just be the way. No situation is so dire that panic cannot make it worse.
There are two kinds of people in this world: those can extrapolate from incomplete data.

They can..... and it is something I have advocated for years!

The Fleet Driver Risk Index is a psychometric test that filters out drivers with poor atitudes and risk taking behaviour, then improves their driving with remedial training.

It works.

In the first year of its use Arriva halved the accident rate for their bus fleet!

In theory this idiot would have been filtered out by the testing and given remedial training before she got to this stage

I hope the police are still holding her to account for her driving offence and leaving the scene of an accident.

In the video she's looks as if butter wouldn't melt in her mouth as she apologies, you note how her only concern is for herself and how her actions have impacted on her,not a mention of her victim and make no mistake of seriousness of her actions, but for chance she could have seriously injured or killed the cyclist who she hit.
I hope she get sacked from her job forthwith and I hope she's prosecuted for dangerous driving.

You are seeing a potential killer with a serious attitude problem in that video.

I believe that if she is convicted then the conviction means that she cannot fail to declare it at any time, as a professsion are Chartered Accountant is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

I also believe that some offences that show poor character can be deemed sufficient to turn down her application

Good! :D

Hitting a cyclist is bad.
Running away is really bad.
Bragging about it afterwards is horrible.
Pretending she's hard done by afterwards is pathetic.

Lets hope they give her the maximum punishment allowed under law and not some token settlement where she gets away without a record.

She only says she is sorry it has gone viral, nothing about the cyclist.

What we could do with, is the chief Exec of Twitter Inc, going on air and saying, we're frightfully sorry we ever allowed recidivist pond-life such as this specimen, to go online on our network....

I thought that was the only type of person who uses Twitter.
