A good sleeping mat for a bad back?

Specifically for cycle touring subjects & questions

I've quite liked mine. Like you say, small and fairly comfortable. I've found it quite warm too.

Don't really want to start using my CCF when I go cycle touring as it's bulkier, but I'm loathe to buy _another_ self inflating mat.

Only issue I have with mine is that it doesn't self inflate. You have to blow into it which is exhausting after an 80 mile day!

Hahaha! Yeah I have a lot of those.

I had to use a Swiss Army knife to open a can of beans and sausage on my last camping trip. Took all night. Who the hell makes cans without ring pulls in this day and age.

I used to suffer bad lower back pain, and I found that a combination of a foam sleeping mat, with one of the soft yoga or aerobics mats was a good compromise between comfort and weight. Hope you don't suffer too much with your back. I'm very grateful that my pain was muscle related and, touch wood, has gone now
