In France 2 weeks ago one of the camp sites we stayed on the ground was so hard I popped to a Big Mat (type of Wicks) and got 2 packets of 6 inch nails and a 2 euro claw hammer worked a treat but i was in the car so weight was not an issue not having to carry them :D

The titanium nail pegs are basically 6-inch nails but made of titanium - so lighter ... and a lot more expensive.

I've bent / damaged several V pegs over the years trying to get them into hard / stony ground so if the silly pegs stop me havbing to replace a few pegs i guess they will pay for themselves!

I think you'll just end up bending them. I'd be happy to be proved wrong.

If you want indestructible, then these are the babies to go for:

Not light though (19g each). But I suspect that you can have light or you can have indestructible - but not both.

(Alpkit used to do titanium nail pegs so might be worth checking whether they have started selling them again).

That's a cracking site. Nice kit. Thanks.

The guy-runners also available from the Clamcleats site are well worth looking at if you've ever had trouble faffing with guyline runners. These are the ones Hilleberg use as standard issue on their tents and they're a lot better than the ones that come with most tents. Well worth a retro-fit on most tents that don't have them already IME.
Often seen riding a bike around Dundee...

And they do a luminescent version if you're prone to trip over guylines.
