How's the light from it Al?

I saw one - kind of liked the look of it but couldn't really test it without unpacking the batteries it comes with.

it's not the smallest thing so I suppose it would have to work hard to justify it's space - I usually use a bicycle light or head torch.

(PS - they do have a head torch as well)

It's somewhat bulkier than a torch / emergency bike light though.
I bought one, but so far have only used it for mood lighting when taking a bath.

The lantern is not very bright but quite good as a general tent light. I think its a safe light for the bath! As you say slightly bulky.

I actually bought the head torch (very cheap I think maybe £3.50) - it's more comfortable than the Petzl Zipka I have and quite neat.

It is however clear that it is no way weatherproof - wouldn't want to use it in the rain. Not even the bath :)

And I have doubts about how the battery closing "mechanism" will last - not well engineered/materials-engineered - no great problem opening it - closing it a problem - may bust.

They are doing some neat LED lights in Sainsbury's at the moment for £3.49- 24 LED, flat back, multi position hook - seems to work ok and can be hung/placed just about anywhere! I bought it as a potential tent light - it'll certainly work for that, not stupendously bright but ample :D , certainly easier to use than a headlamp as a space light.
Convention? what's that then?
