Camping and cycling holiday with 7yr old /
Could anyone suggest a good place to holiday in England that has good cycle paths to take children .I'm ideally looking for a good campsite which has some nice cycle paths nearby . We will be travelling down by train so I don't want to be cycling miles on busy roads with a 7 yr old . I had been looking at Holland but would like to see if there is any where down south suitable first .Would be grateful if any one could suggest a place/area ,thanks

The New Forest? Easy train access, numerous campsites, a network of off-road cycle trails (loose shingle/gravel surface), plenty of attractions and ice cream stops, ponies wandering about, deer-spotting, streams to play in... kids love it.

My thoughts also, New Forest, train to Brockenhurst. Or come and join us on the new forest cycle week, where lots of families with youngsters meet up for a week.

I live in the Forest, have to agree! We can easily ride most of the forest with minimal roads. The gradients are gentle generally, which also makes it great for kids.

The New Forest would be ideal - alternatively somewhere like Barnstaple where you cold take advantage of the Tarka Trail and a couple of different campsites that adjoin the trail.
