Mick,
I had your LEJOG routes, having used the first few from Penzance to Gloucester, but I have mislaid them. Is there any chance you could help me with them?
Also, I got lost on that small road going to Rob's Passage. Any little landmarks I should be looking out for?
Best wishes,
David

I'm here!
LE to Gloucester (or should I say, the other way round)
http://www.bikeroutetoaster.com/Course. ... rse=185061 Took a wrong turn in Bristol, but you'll get the idea.

http://www.bikeroutetoaster.com/Course. ... rse=145542Coming from Crediton towards Tiverton, turn off not far out of Crediton. There's a long sweeping righthander after leaving the town, and you drop down a hill, look for a right turn. Follow this a short while and take a left turn. Follow this road for quite a while to Thorverton.
Go straight through the village and head east and over a little bridge over a stream. This will bring you out onto the Exeter/Tiverton road next to a big pub. Turn left and head for Bickleigh and straight on for Tiverton.
I don't think there any landmarks as such. It's a flat area for the most part with a few short hills and a few very narrow sections. Quite a lot of the route is in open farmland. If you don't have a satnav system to upload it to, you need to look at my link and print it out as a paper map.
Hope that helps!

Thanks Mick.
Have you written a book on the subject? I have seen you on one of the LEJOG vids when you were sitting outside the pub talking the two guys through Cornwall into Devon.
Have you published your whole LEJOG route?

No, not published ........... other than on here and on Blogspot.
I'm not sure there's a real market for it. I know Simon and Trevor did the DVD - with me - and although they would have made money on it, any profits went to their charity. Graham the producer, took no wage from it and neither did the other experts - including me.
Here's the DVD
http://www.jollygoodtv.co.uk/lejog.htmlWhen I first did my JOGLE in 1994, I had no info from any external source. I had a road map, a history of travel up and down the country over the years, and a huge bucketful of common sense. It was easy for me to pick out a route and I knew how far I could ride each day, so it was a simple task to pick out where I wanted to stay each night. There was no internet and I didn't own a mobile phone.
I joined the YHA and luckily the hostels fitted in with my schedule. Also, I stayed overnight at my sister's place in Wrexham, and here in Cornwall at home.
Route was:
JOG SYHA, Helmsdale SYHA, Inverness SYHA, Pitlochry SYHA, Edinburgh SYHA, Carlisle YHA, Arnside YHA, Wrexham at sister's place, Welsh Bicknor YHA, Street YHA, home here in Gunnislake, LE.
11 days, fully loaded with panniers and totally unsupported.
I followed the same route for my LE to JOG and Back in 2006, and again for my Raleigh Chopper JOGLE in 2010.

I call totally unsupported wild camping.

Totally?
Good point I suppose, but I didn't have assistance or help, and I carried all my stuff myself.
