I'm riding with my 16 year old son over 13 days unsupported staying in B&Bs. We are following one of the scenic CTC routes and will cover approx 1020 miles.
I was due to ride the JOGLE in 2011 with 6 guys from my local running club but due to work commitments I only managed to join the group in Cumbria on day 6 so I completely missed the Scottish part. I always said that I would go and ride the whole route and with a bit of gentle persuasion my youngest son has agreed to take on the challenge with me. He is sitting his last GCSE exam today so his training has been rather limited as it has been fitted around his studies. He is a good mountain biker and has a good level of fitness.
We will be travelling fairly light using Carradice saddle and bar bags to carry our gear. I ride a Specialized Tarmac and Harry has an almost new Canyon Roadlite. I'm a bit worried about the hills as when I rode in 2011 I had some knee trouble in the hilly sections and I wasn't carrying anything that time as we had a support van who looked after our every need.
I will post a brief blog as and when I can:

JOGLE starting 23rd June
Re: JOGLE starting 23rd June
All the best for your trip. I will follow your blog with interest. We may pass each other on Friday 5th July as we cycle Penzance to Rock, having started at Lands End on the 4th July. I will keep an eye out for you.
Re: JOGLE starting 23rd June
Thanks Henry. The route on the 5th looks quite complicated. We ride from Wadebridge and go through St Columb Major, St Newlyn East, Shortlanesend and Praze-an-Beeble. I will keep an eye out for you too.
Good luck and enjoy it.
