This one?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cycle-Pro-Cycle ... m_sbs_sg_1 It says the boxed weight is 100gm so it will be a lightweight, crack like a sail abomination. Not to my taste at all. This one
http://www.amazon.co.uk/WATERPROOF-PVC- ... rid_pt_1_1 might be better.

Ah, I never thought to check the weight.
Just goes to show that the photoshopped image can do wonders for sales. I skipped over that second one because it looks so tight and uncomfortable.
Thanks

I don't do wet and cold, so I bought the carradice cape. My children said you can't be serious wearing that!! Well on the two occasions I have had to resort to the cape it was brilliant, very warm and very dry. It's a waxed cape, a bit heavy but to me it's worth carrying it. In fact I fell off recently whilst wearing it and I think it good the brunt of the fall, even though I still ended up with stitches in leg and arm. It's better to look "not so cool" and be dry than wet and cold!!

I have a decent waterproof jacket but it eventually leaks if heavy weather. I have an old army poncho and I swear by it if rain is heavy, you can buy them cheap online or from ex-army surplus stores. Head goes through hooded bit, I sit on the rear bit on top of the saddle and the front bit goes over handlebars no problem. Not a drop of rain anywhere on me as a consequence, hundreds of pounds worth of goretex wouldn't be as reliable. OK not ideal in windy conditions nor will you win any beauty competition wearing the thing, but for the sake of fashion/vanity, I prefer to stay dry

Plus if camping the poncho makes a good bike cover

We give Inverness capes a lot of use over the Scottish summer in pipe band land!
