Tell me about Moultons

I live quite close to the factory but have never had any desire to buy one. I've seen a few and thought they looked a little old fashioned and quirky.

Am I missing something? I quite fancy trying one and would possibly buy one and run it for a season, sell it on again if I knew what to buy. I would want something with drop handlebars and decent gears, something light and quick not necessarily for touring.

Convince me - what are the pro's and cons? What are the better models? Not interested in silly money double pylon thingies.

Dave, even to buy one and only run it only for a season, you may well still be looking at silly money. Do plenty of research first and/or, see if you can borrow one for a few days or longer. That may be enough to decide whether these funny liitle bikes are for you or not. The trouble is, after you've got one, they sort of multiply...

I had a Moulton APB for 6 years...Not the best bike I ever had..Not sure if TSR Moultons are any better..Bad points..heavy..riding out of the saddle mine was like riding a pogo stick..The bike was forever creaking...Front suspension bush in headtube kept seizing up..Hopefully the TSR Moultons will be better..could hardly be as bad..
Buy one on Ebay..if you do not like it sell it on..
Better still ..buy a Bike Friday ..wonderful bikes..wonderful after sales service..Or..something like a Dahon Speed TT.Dahon P18.or even an X-Scootr Swift...Failing all these choices..an S6 Brompton...fabulous bikes..perhaps even a Dahon Hammerhead ..20inch wheel bike.

I am selling my Pacific Reach full suspension folder with 20x1 1/8" wheels/tyres and 16 speed derailleur gears shortly, watch the for sale section if interested. It will be less than a Moulton
