Planet X tyres

Post by stevebark1964 »

Is anyone using Planet X's own brand road tyres, PXT Rage Folding Kevlar. They appear to be very reasonably priced at £19.99 each on the Planet X website. I'd be keen to hear how well they wear and how puncture resistant they are. I am looking to replace my commuting tyres (c300 km per week).

I suspect they haven't been around for very long. IME Planet-X stuff is always pretty good - I can't remember ever regretting buying anything from them.

Puncture-resistant tyres will have a kevlar or aramid (I think they may be different words for the same thing) mesh. I'd check the spec on the website to see what it says - the kevlar in the name is almost certainly referring to the beading (hence they are foldable).

Thanks. At £19.99 I guess I should just try a pair. If they last and they are really puncture resistant, it's a bonus!!

If you do, please let us know how you get on with them.

You can get a pair of Vittoria Rubino Pros for less than that, and they definitely are good tyres: http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/sp/road-t ... tAodlkQA6g
