'Refreshing the brand' . . . . . .

Is it a ghastly cliche or a hip, clever way to describe a makeover? I am talking CTC here.

We could have a competition perhaps on how many pages this Thread is going to run for, assuming this is going to be about the recent e-mail from the CTC which asks you to complete a survey which includes questions about the name etc.

My entry is 10 pages.

I have just done the survey (they don't give you a score so I don't know if I have passed) and it reminds me why organisations need to test their surveys before releasing them onto the general public. I can't go back and check but I am fairly sure it asked me twice if I was a member of CTC and the last question about other cycling organisations I might be a member of lists one called "No" which I guess might be short for "New Omnicyclists" or something like that. Anyway, I have had to join it as I had to say I was a member of "No" in order to progress through the survey.

I'm still fretting about the apostrophe in Cyclists' Touring Club -hope I got that one right!

It did ask you twice. That's an error I can forgive - some office volunteer claims to know how to work survey monkey etc. It's the 'refresh the brand' which makes me round shouldered. Writing cliches is evidence of thinking them.

ps the sweepstake idea has merit. I'm in for a packet of Haribo

I expect they're just considering whether to re-introduce the "The" in the name.

No?

Dare I say 'I told you so'?

CTC's faffing around with a rebranding that will alienate existing members, whilst doing little to attract long term new members - something that British Cycling is proving to be very good at.

I'm afraid this is just another line on the suicide note being written by Council and National Office.

Here we go again with anonymous on-line polls.

You can fill this form in as many times as you want.
You can answer what you want, it doesn't know you.
I've only filled it in once at the moment, but if I get bored later this evening, I can get back to it and fill it in in all sorts of ways.

How old should I be?
What sex am I?
What sort of riding - or perhaps I don't/can't ride a bike?
Where do I live?
What questions should I answer and in what way?

It's all a complete waste of time because it cannot mean anything when they produce an anonymous poll to fill in as many times as you like.

Perhaps some petrol heads may like to take part.
Perhaps I should ask Clarkson to fill it in.

PS:
I've raised this with the mods.
I wonder if National Office read this forum?

Perhaps they're just thinking of going back to being The Cyclists' Touring Club with a Winged Wheel logo.

I must admit that all my bikes carried a CTC transfer (Winged Wheel), but I would not demean any of my bikes with the modern monstrosity

I'd like the "The" back please :D

I'm of the view that branding rules cannot trump grammar rules
