I try new tyres every year, and I am still far from exploring the marked. For touring I often go for some type of puncture protection, I hate to get a flat when I am tired or it's raining. I like Schwalbe Marathon Pluss, the series is serveral years old now, but they are the closest I have come to puncture proof. They are heavy, solid, but surprisingly easy roll and come from size 25-622 and up. In the Marathon series there are new developments I haven't tried, but they are generally quite durable tyres. If light weight and more of a racer feel is important I would go for something else, but this is not a bad choice.

Schwalbe Duranos have transformed my Galaxy and seem as durable as the Marathons they replaced but they are almost slick and slippery on mud, grass or wet leaves .

Conti 4-Seasons.
Used them for a JOGLE with camping equipment too.
