The
Optimus Crux may be worth considering - it folds flat to fit in the hollow in the base of a gas canister, which is handy if you keep the canister in a pan.
Some sort of rigid case is quite handy in small stoves - the pot supports & serrations are quite good at making holes if the stove is packed loose.

I've gravitated towards hard-anodized aluminium myself. "More likely to burn" should really have been "needs more stirring to prevent burning". Thick things like porage or beans will burn in anything if not stirred.
