Help! Not one dealer/supplier I know can get hold of 700x38B Delta cruisers in cream, and as I work in a bike shoppe that's a bit silly, does anyone know anywhere that may have a pair? and are Schwalbe having one of those 'glitches' in production again???
Yours Rather Desperately
Edd

Spa cycles have them 700 x 35c in cream. It's not that far out and is at the bargain price of £7.50.
Looking on teh Scwalbe website they don't appear to do a 38.

According to this page they come in 40-635 (700B), cream and cream with reflex line, as well as black and magenta. I had to work a bit to get Marathon Pluss 40-635: after asking in shops I contancted the importer for my country, even they had to be given name, size and article numbe before they acknowledge it came in this size. I were lucky and got it the next time they ordered from Germany, all in all about two-three weeks later. Shops tend to say they can't get them or they don't exist because either its' an easy answer, or they don't know it does, but the importer was very helpful. It migt be the same with your delta size too. Most shops around here only stock a basic tire type in this size. I hope Schwalbe is up to speed in their production! On ebay it's available. Not all countries use French sizing very often, and searching 28" x 1 1/2 or 40-635 will probably give more hits if you are open to order from outside UK.

Edit; even Ebay.uk lists this tire in 40-635, here and here.

I'm on first name terms with most of the importer's, they're not having any luck getting them at the moment :/ Fishers reckoned I should try fleaBay lol

Sort of related: is there any functional difference between the colours? I've read some claims that the black lasts longer in UV light because the black is added carbon but I've no idea why that would matter and if it's true. I wonder whether people think the cream doesn't last as long because it's easier to see cracking and other damage than in black.

Then there must be a hault in production or something, at least the size is still in demand. Some still have them in stock on flea.bay, luckily new ones ;- ) Only two sellers seems to have them in UK though.

They're for the 'Guv', I know it sounds a bit tarts handbag-ey, but black tyres?? ;) as for lifetime, they've only started 'chunking' after 7 years/umpteen thousand miles, so as far as I'm cocerned, like for like :)

7 years is unusually good, I might order a pair my self and size selection is very good. I have an old brown Raleigh three speed that might look good with cream tires, 37-590.

Our Super-efficient German freinds being super-efficient at knocking things on the head for a bit, personally I'm not to keen on running on the canvas...

Nothing beats the retro look, and they feel wondrful under the posterior, and quite confidence inspiring on the front too :)
