Meths in Norway
I'm heading to Norway - North Cape and intend using my Trangia as it is very safe when cooking in the tent BUT is it easy (and cheap) to buy meths in Norway ? When I was in Slovakia it was only available from chemists and at a price.

Whilst I can't directly confirm - but bearing in mind Triangas are i believe from Scandinavia, so presumably ok.
Make sure you know what it is called in Norway. My mate's purchase of brush cleaner in place of "alcohol a bruler" in France was a bit exciting. First fill was just a top up, and we were quite pleased with the "really good meths". Second fill was 100% rocket fuel and 4' high flames were a bit excessive for a slow simmer. 10% thinners to 90% proper meths was pretty good for rest of week though. To this day he claims it wasn't his fault as it was on same shelf in similar bottle - though I'd have though the picture of a paint brush on the bottle was a clue.

Only scanned that other thread quickly so might be saying something already mentioned: another good source of meths in Norway and probably elsewhere is a builders merchant/decorators supplier.
Please do not use this post in Cycle magazine

Denaturated alcohol? Rødsprit = red spirit, they colour it red here. You should have no probem finding it. If you need a special additive, or colourless it is more work. I think petrol stations should have it too. Places where they sell equipment for boating life they usually have most stuff for different burners.
This colour; usually much the same bottle logo varies.

Edit: came to think of it North Cape is far away from everything, not many stores, but there should be denaturated spirit available.

"Rod Spirit" was what I found for my Trangia in Iceland.
I picked it because the ingredient list started with ethanol and it had the least number of other ingredient add to the ethanol.
It worked fine.
