Hi, I am just thinking about starting a long tour towards the end of summer next year. Has anyone got any ideas? and is there anyone else interested in having a few months away on the bike?I was thinking of uk heading in the general direction of Asia . I would have to camp to keep costs down and stay away for longer but would be looking at 4 months away or maybe more.
Is anyone else looking to do a longer trip next year?? I would love to hear peoples ideas!!

This year I did a fantastic to to Iceland and back.
Next year I plan to do a loop around the Carpathians.
The easy bit will be up the Rhine and down the Danube to the Black Sea,
The "fun" bit will be going north through the Ukraine before turning west in Poland.

I would consider heading to Asia by plane and cycling there for your 4months.
Lots of possibilities eg fly into China then head down go SEA ie Lao, Vietnam, Cambodia Thailand etc. Fly home from there.
No need for camping as accom cheap.
Return ticket about £600, cheap food and accommodation. Will cost less then heading out across Europe and one way ticket back.

I am setting off in april next year folling the NSR from Rotterdam to Skagan in Denmark then into sweden ferry to Gdansk tracing the Amber trail
south. Camping and self catering to keep costs down and occasional warmshowers and hostels.If interested drop me a line we will swap email addresses.

Hi ,To be honest I am looking to head down to the Med and Adriatic pretty quick, I did the Rhine and top half of the Danube a couple of years ago and it rained nearly every day so this time I am thinking get down south as quick as possible into the warm sunny weather.I must admit I always fancied Scandinavia but I need guaranteed good weather this time!!

My plan - for next year or the year after - is to kick things off with a Spring flight from UK to Turkey and then head towards the 'stans or Iran before the winter catches me up.

Well I would aim for Turkey and Iran myself but would love to see Europe on the way down.The Adriatic is such a beautiful area! I must admit the Stans are very appealing to me to,i guess I would have to see what the money situation was at that point and make a decision to head home or keep going.I really have no time limit ,money is my limiting factor !!
