Carradice over shoes?

Post by bikerwaser »

Hi All

i'm in the market for some new overshoes and see that Carradice do them .
i wear size 11 walking shoes and have had dificulty in the past finding some large enough.
i wondered if anyone had any reviews of them ?

thanks

I have a pair of their spats which come in the same sizes as the over shoes. I take size 8 so bought size 8-11. Hell's teeth they are huge! I tucked the toe piece over on itself to shorten them by an inch or so and then they fitted my size 8. Unfortunately the rest of the spat is equally oversized for me and I had to make adaptations in Velcro to the rear to get them to stay in place. I've since relegated them to emergency winter use to go with my winter shoes which are a couple of sizes bigger than I usually take.

So my criticism of fit is because I am right at the bottom end of their fitting range.

I've given up tying to find an overshoe that keeps your feet dry, after all if you ride clipless they have to have a hole in the bottom but I keep using them to keep my feet warm. What I am still seeking is an overshoe that doesn't disintegrate in a few months/ I've even tried washing them every time I used them to no avail. Guess I'm resigned to getting new ones at least once a year. :(
