Saddle for saving WEIGHT.

Post by student »

So, after some months of relatively constant setup, I've decided to shave off some weight of my basso.

First step was purchasing cheap Record Titanium Brifters from Ebay (8spd won in an auction:

)

Next I've added some 10 pounds to a local guy's bank account and got BBB BHB-03 speedbar for it.

They have double grooves so it's great.

Next, I want to change to old two-coloured turbomatic2 saddles for a lighter one. The chosen costs 5 pounds in a local classified:

it's listed as selle san marco concor light, the seller asks for 5 pounds. (a bit less, actually closer to 4, but I hate to convert local money to pounds, I like euros more because then I only have to multiply by 300)

Anyone having any ideas how this saddle might perform? I have skinny ass, mostly hard-rock, and I don't really like the shape of selle italia's qbik. I quite liked the turbomatic2 though and I've also covered lot of miles with an old selle san marco concor)

Obviously if this purchase gets me a good saddle for cheap I'll just go over with it asap. : )

Then I can start thinking about a seatpost (currently a charge chopsticks which I've bought for 7 pounds when it was in a huuuge discount at wiggle, the price dropped by 1% every 24 hours until stock gone.. and it was with 87% discount in the end, ehe)

Depends entirely on the shape of your rear end. One man's favourite armchair is another man's meat tenderizer.

all the concor models have a similar shape which you either love or hate.

AT that price try it and see. You can always sell it again if you don't like it.

cheers

Thank you for the responses. After inquring, I decided to go for it, especially as I like the stock-concor saddle quite much.

When I'll have all of the parts in bag and installed, I'll update with some pics ; )

Old Modolo Q-even replaced by BBB BHB03 Fastbar, saved another 60 grams

and waiting for selle san marco concor light to get down another 120 grams or so from the weight of the old TurboMatic2-s : )
