Help needed, opinions, colour scheme.

Post by student »

Well, I'd really appreciate any take on how to choose frame colour to the colour of my "accessories and parts".

To start with, current setup

http://www.flickr.com/photos/97878439@N06/11234810855/

since the pic I've managed to get black silky finished seatpost and black saddle, and some anodized blue skewers for the wheels and blue cable kit .

So:
Black handlebar, black saddle, black seatpost
Dark Gray Anodized stem
Black Crankset, Black Headset
Silver hubs, rims, brakes, derailleurs, shifters.
Blue skewers, cable kit.
Red tyres (won't change those... )

Practically I won't change on the setup, just install the new parts. The frame needs some new paintjob though, due to the toptube, downtube, fork, chainstays..

I thought that a darker red colour would make a nice contrast with the darker black and dark blue parts. On the other hand, a Red-Blue-White scheme is also very appealing for me.

for reference, here are the other parts:
Blue cable kit, cheap but faar better quality than the current one..:

Blue skewers:

(actually got a golden one as well, from the same seller for the same price)

seatpost:

this has a silky black, very fine finish, though short (300 mm.. I need at least 21cm exposed from the seat tube..)

The frame won't be changed, just repainted.. Colour? Dark reddish? Orange? (Orange matches very well with blue) Or Dark Emerald Green?

The only part I'll need just some fresh bartape =)

Any help would be appreciated!
Most importantly: I want something which draws the attention, so colourful and contrasty details are considered. :)

Cheers and I hope everyone's having a happy new year with looots of miles to cover.
I'm located outside the UK. Never been there, not even considering getting a work there once I have my degree. :)

Pink? Nope. Purple is great. Even lime. But I'd rather limit pink to any eosinophilic structure on a histo slide. No need for pink on a bike. :)

But Red actually goes well with blue.
