oi, ugly, speed up

You've read the "wearing a h*lm*t makes you richer" thread.....now, apparently, fast riders are better looking.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-26034659

Well, I guess it's common knowledge that the CTC is made up of beer bellied, sandal-wearing, speccies with beards that you could hide a badger in (and the men are even worse)....all bimbling along really slowly

I had read years ago that women on the contraceptive pill were basically choosing the wrong partners. They chose men who would be good long term carers rather than imparting the best genes. Because of this they potentially either had babies that were physically deficient or no baby at all. But apart from that they had very happy relationships with nice blokes. This is the first time in a long time that this issue has surfaced AFAIK.

Does being handsome make you a better cyclist, or being a good cyclist make you handsome?

Both, because in my case, its an ever INCREASING cycle

Whilst giving them better looks, nature cursed them with a predisposition to wear helmets and garishly coloured lycra team kit. Levels the playing field somewhat.

Nope. A big fat wad of money gave them the persuasion to wear helmets and garishly coloured lycra team kit.

Remembering back to the late seventies and early eighties, I recieved a wad of money to wear a brightly coloured Tee shirt and wear a skateboard helmet when riding BMX demos on skate parks.
If I'd continued in competative cycling, I wouldn't refuse loadsamoney even if it meant wearing pink lycra and a helmet when riding.

I find that as I get older and uglier I get slower.

Me neither. Getting paid loadsamoney ups the attractiveness again
