Looking to get a more practical do everything single speed.
Looking at the above 2 bikes, the Day One is an early V'brake one.
Any opinons on them?

My worse day on my bike is better than my best day at work!
Re: Pompino V Day One
Just noticed your post/question.
I was going to get a Day One only to find out they all came with 175mm cranks, I required 170mm.
I don't have first hand experience of either bike but a lot of people do tend to ride Pompinos.
(Sorry it's not much help.)

Re: Pompino V Day One
Both are excellent bikes. Plenty of Pomp's around, still amongst the best for VFM. I bought a Day One disc last November. 54cm size, 170mm cranks. Apart from the rock hard saddle which I'd planned to change for a proper leather one anyway, I'm very pleased with it. It's fine for club rides, day tours, can't really fault it. The tyres are better on hard-pack roughstuff rather than outright mud (of which we now have plenty!) but again, I got it as a bit of do everything bike and not especially a mud plugging off roader.
I would have bought a canti' braked model if I could have, as I prefer the simplicity and even more ease of wheel removal. The disc brakes are fine, though do squeal like hell when dirty, even more than canti's. But ofcourse, they don't wear the rims out. All in all, it's a great bike.
